Bicol’s Road to Digitalization 2025 @Lotus Blu Hotel in Naga City

At Friday, June 20, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Shapetech IT Services proudly took part in the Bicol’s Road to Digitalization 2025 event, an initiative led by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region V to accelerate the region’s transition toward a fully digital ecosystem. The program brought together key government officials, private sector representatives, ICT companies, and local stakeholders to collaborate on strategies that will enhance connectivity, digital infrastructure, and access to technology across Bicol.
The event showcased DICT’s flagship initiatives, including the expansion of the Free Public Wi-Fi program, which aims to double internet hotspots in schools, hospitals, barangay halls, transport terminals, and other public areas by 2025. Discussions also focused on the National Broadband Plan Phase 2, which will establish cable landing stations in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, and Sorsogon, strengthening the region’s fiber-optic backbone for faster and more reliable connections. In addition, the deployment of 60 Starlink low-earth orbit (LEO) satellite units was highlighted as a key solution to bridge the digital divide in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs), ensuring high-speed internet access even in underserved communities.
As a participant, Shapetech IT Services engaged in knowledge sharing, networked with fellow ICT leaders, and emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in achieving these ambitious goals. The company also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the region through innovative ICT solutions, ranging from infrastructure and networking to hardware, software, and security services. By contributing its expertise and resources, Shapetech IT Services positions itself as an active partner in driving technological advancement and empowering communities in Bicol.
